Why Ceramic Glazes Confuse Cameras

Glaze is unusually difficult to photograph because it combines color, texture, reflections, and tiny variations in thickness. A glossy teal bowl may reflect a yellow wall. A matte white vase can become blue beside a window. Speckled surfaces may look flatter or harsher depending on contrast.
